OUR TEACHERS
Summit teachers continually strive to create self-motivated, capable, employable adults who have not only gained knowledge and skills, but have also learned how to learn.
In order to learn effectively, many students require close personal attention. Our personalized approach (low student/teacher ratio) allows teachers to engage with each student individually.
Summit encourages a team atmosphere and an open working relationship with all team members, including management and support.

ALEATHEA STEELE
Instructor
“Learning is a lifelong process.” I firmly believe that it is possible to learn something new each day. At Summit College, I am always enhancing my teaching methods to suit my students’ needs and to ensure they get the best out of this experience. My goal is to collaborate with each of my students to strengthen their newfound skills and inspire the possibility of employment.
CHRISTENE AGRO
Instructor, Hamilton Campus Leader
The saying, “Never stop learning. For when we stop learning, we stop growing,” is one of my favourite quotes. As a Campus Leader and Teacher with Summit College, I’m always learning new ways to engage my students, and also take the time to learn about their hopes and aspirations. My goal as a teacher is to inspire my students to enjoy learning, and to view it as a way to grow and develop into the best version of themselves.
DAVID JACKSON
Instructor
I believe the goal of teaching is for students to gain tools they can use to help fulfill their working and personal potential. People sometimes need different tools to reach their goals throughout their lives, and Summit students exemplify this statement, as many students join us after years of being in the workforce. I am happy to work with students at whatever level they enter the college at, with the ultimate goal of supporting them with the necessary resources to begin a new job path.
DOMINIKA GRZEDZINSKI
Instructor, St. Catharines Campus Leader
I believe everyone is a lifelong learner that has something to offer. My goal as a teacher is to provide support to all my students and help them on their road to success. I hope to instill the same passion and love I feel for learning, within my students. No matter what age a person is or how long they’ve been out of school, they have the capacity to learn. Every student is unique and at Summit, has the opportunity to reach their learning goals.
LAURA CLEMENTE D'AGOSTINO
Instructor
I believe that no matter what age a person is, or how long it’s been since they’ve been in school, everyone is capable of learning. My goal as a campus leader and teacher is to make sure that each one of my students gets the attention they need in order to reach their full potential. The small campus sizes at Summit allow for individualized teaching and learning and allow me to get to know my students, their learning styles, and their life goals. Using this knowledge, I try to create the best learning environment possible.
MAGGIE GRANT, OCT
Program Developer and Occasional Instructor
Maggie is Summit’s main program developer. She designs, creates, and maintains the quality of Summit’s programs.
MARIA HUSSAINI
Instructor
My role as a teacher is to help learners discover things about themselves and for themselves. I do this by helping my students set goals and then, with patience and perseverance, actively work towards those goals. Every challenge is an opportunity. Every success should be celebrated. To learn is the goal.
MYRIAM THOMAS
Instructor
I believe that everyone has the ability to start again and learn something new. Learning is an ongoing process that should carry on all throughout one's life, whether it is for employment purposes or enjoyment. I am passionate about instilling this idea in students and seeing them become proud of their accomplishments. My goal as an instructor is to be a small part of someone's journey to help them help themselves. It's all about taking that first step out of the comfort zone, and finding an inner courage.
WENDY VERKERK
Instructor
I believe that teaching is about guiding and supporting students to reach their best potential. Learning is a path that requires patience with ourselves. As I often say to both my kids and Summit students, it's called learning for a reason - you don't yet know all the answers!! I love building relationships with students that help them realize the "Power of Yet", the power of patience and learning.
